Final Day with Patim

After Krystle’s workshop we were done, other than doing some closing thoughts and discussion over what they learned and what they thought were good activities and should be repeated and which were not and should be discarded. We spent time with the patients at the community and prepared to say goodbye to them and to each other. It had been quite a learning experience, one that we will not forget for a very long time.

We got all the patients a small gift. This had to be a reasonably cheap and useful gift. Sadly, we also selected an unhealthy one. For the ones that smoked we gave them a lighter, which was all but 2 of them, those that did not received a hand-made bookmark.

We also made a special apple pie from Serbia. It was delicious.

I burnt my hand. Funny story. I set the pans on top of the ovens, where it shouldn’t be hot. And I guess there was a spot where hot air left the ovens, which just so happened to be underneath one of the corners of the pans. So when I picked it up, ouch.
